Things to look for when purchasing a Grandfather Clock
Most likely if your in the market to purchase a new grandfather clock the most important feature is that it will last forever. The first and we feel the most important is that the cabinet itself is made of solid wood. Howard Miller for example is made of solid wood and when dropped in their box will not break (Obviously the glass will). Veneered particle board frames will not last and should not be moved very often. The second thing to look for is the grandfather clocks movement be of high quality. German movements from Keininger meet these high standards. The weights and pendulum should be made of brass. After your purchase take don't touch the brass on the weights or pendulum with bare hands as the oil from your hands will leave rust looking fingerprints. We wish you luck with your purchase of a high quality grandfather clock. We feel you can't go wrong with the quality of the Howard Miller clocks.
